Chapter Twenty Two

"So dad, what do you think?" Michelle asked, she and Jon were out to lunch, they could both see photographers. Jon looked at her, "Hmm?" he said looking confused, he wasn't paying attention, yet again. Michelle sighed, "never mind, it's not important," she lied. In fact it was important, to her, she was trying to tell Jon about a guy she had been seeing for the past three months. He was her perfect guy, he was handsome, intelligent, funny, caring, he could sing, play numerous instruments and boy could he dance. He was an amazing dancer, he was like Sammy Davis Jr and Michael Jackson put together.

The waitress placed their food on the table. "Thanks" both Jon and Michelle said. "No problem..." Michelle noticed that the waitress wasn't going anywhere. She kicked her father under the table. Jon looked at the waitress and used his 'look I'm trying to be polite here' smile, "Are you alright there?" he asked, the waitress smiled, she looked delighted. She looked as though she would break down in tears any minute. "Can I have your autograph?" she asked handing Jon a piece of paper and a Biro. "Sure, what's your name?" he asked, "Michelle" she answered, her voice shaking a bit. Jon glanced at his daughter, Michelle, then at the paper again, "One of my two favorite girls names.." he said with a grin, he handed the paper to the waitress. She read it out excitedly, "To Michelle, the great waitress, keep on rockin' - Jon Bon Jovi" she shreaked excitedly and ran away.

"What's wrong princess?" he asked when Michelle sighed. He had a different pet name for all his kids, Princess was Michelle's, Stephanie's was baby girl. They both swept their fringes off their faces. "I just sometimes wish you had a normal, boring job and we could go out to lunch and photographers wouldn't be taking our photos and waiters wouldn't be nearly passing out when they serve you, I mean don't get me wrong, I do love it that your a big rock star but..." Jon understood what she meant, he understood exactly.

Just as he opened his mouth to speak, his phone rang. Shit, he forgot about his radio interview he had. "I'm sorry princess" he said to Michelle, "Hello Larry." he said answering the phone. "Hi, Jon, how are you today?" Larry King asked. "I'm doing great and you, Larry?" "I'm doing alright. Now down to the questions. Jon, is it true that you have six kids? If so what are their names?" Larry asked, everyone knew Jon had four kids not many people knew that he actually had six. "Yes, it is. Let see.. there's Christian, Michelle, Stephanie, Jesse, Jakey and Romeo." Jon answered. He hoped the questions wouldn't get too hard, he was too tired to think hard. "You had Stephy, Jesse, Jakey and Romeo with Dorothea, who had you Christian and Michelle with?" Larry knew the answer, he was a very good friend of Jon's and he knew all his children very well. "Someone I married before Dorothea, I can't name her." Jon said, Jacklyn would kill him if he named her. "But I thought you and Dorothea were high school sweethearts?..." "We were, then we hit a rough patch and broke up. I met, fell in love with and married Chris and Chelle's mother, we divorced, I married Dorothea." Jon explained. "What's all this everywhere about you being an emotional wreck?" Jon laughed, "Rubbish. Just like every thing in Hollywood."

Each question was more difficult than the last. Michelle was starting to get annoyed with people staring at them, at Jon then her... wondering who she was. The paparazzi were still snapping away. Michelle laughed to herself, a picture of Christian and her would be worth a lot to the paparazzi.

When they were leaving the paparazzi surrounded them, "Jon, who's this?" "Is this Michelle?" "Where's Christian?" "Why did you keep them a secret all this time?" Jon started to walk faster and faster, Michelle tried to keep up. The paparazzi were everywhere. Jon reached out a hand to Michelle and pulled her close, he tried to shield her from them. The cops must have seen what was going on because they came over and pushed them away. Four cops escorted Jon and Michelle to their car. "We're very very sorry about what happened." One cop said to Jon, "It wasn't your fault." Jon said, he shook the police officers hands and got into the car.
